COEBURN, Va. (WCYB) — Last weekend the Eastside High School theatre team in Coeburn, VA won their 12th consecutive one-act state championship.The production this year was called 'The Trench' about the horrors of trench warfare during world war one. The team competed and won the state one-act championship in Charlottesville, VA. Director Shane Burke credits the long-time success of the program to the kids that make it up. “They've put in several hours, as I have, and I think more than being committed to the play they are committed to each other and that helps more than anything,” Burke said.
