🍎 As we welcome students back for a new school year, our schools will dismiss early during the first two days of classes to help everyone transition into new routines and schedules.

Tomorrow, Friday, August 7, 2026, all schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Early dismissal gives students and staff additional time to adjust to the new school year, helping ensure a smooth and successful start for everyone.

We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success.

Welcome back, students and staff!

Wise County Public Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to United Way of Southwest Virginia for its incredible generosity through the Stuff the Bus campaign!

Communities in Schools (CIS) partnered with United Way, assisting with the school supply delivery. The donation included backpacks for students, along with pencils, pens, folders, dividers, scissors, crayons, markers, colored pencils, 5-subject notebooks, filler paper, erasers, and so much more. Superintendent of Wise County Public Schools, Dr. Mike Goforth, states, "The Stuff the Bus program is a tremendous blessing to the students, families, and educators of Wise County Public Schools. By providing essential school supplies, United Way of Southwest Virginia helps remove barriers that can prevent students from starting the school year with confidence. The generosity of this program not only eases the financial burden on families but also allows our teachers to focus on what matters most—teaching and supporting students. We are grateful for this partnership and the positive impact it has on our school communities each year."

These generous donations will help ensure our students have the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn and succeed. We are grateful to United Way of Southwest Virginia, Communities in Schools, and everyone who contributed to the Stuff the Bus campaign for making a difference in the lives of Wise County students.

Thank you for investing in the future of our children! 🍎
