Wise County Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, March 12, 2026, due to unexpected snowfall and deteriorating road conditions. What began as a delayed start quickly changed as snow continued to fall across the county. Out of an abundance of caution for our buses, student drivers, and staff, the decision was made to close schools for the day. We appreciate your understanding and patience as safety remains our top priority. Stay safe and enjoy the snow. ❄️

Now that we have reached our midway point of our 3rd 9 Weeks, we would like to remind our families of the importance of school attendance (when we are in school) for overall school success, even more so now because of the missed days due to inclement weather. It is very important for students to complete their virtual work assignments on these virtual days to assist with retention of what has been and will be discussed in their classes. Please try to schedule appointments around school hours when possible. For local, routine appointments, please try to have your child at school for as much of the school day as possible to limit missed instruction. Friendly Reminder- per Wise County Schools, Parents are permitted 5 parent notes to excuse absences for their child per semester (vacations are not excused). Once a student reaches a total of 5 (excused and/or unexcused) absences in a semester, only doctor's excuses will be accepted. We appreciate your understanding and support as we move forward with our school year. Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns :)
