HISTORY:

J. W. Adams Elementary was built to replace Pound Primary in the fall of 1977. The school was named after James Woodrow Adams, the former Upper Elementary Principal who was also a member of the Wise County Board of Supervisors representing the Robinson District. Originally, the school served students in grades Kindergarten through six. After significant additions and some remodeling to the school, it was renamed J. W. Adams Combined School in the fall of 2001. Currently the school serves students in grades PreK through eight.
