Good Morning Union!

Happy Birthday today to American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist, Bill Gates, born on this date in 1955.

Just a reminder: students you can dress up for Halloween tomorrow as long as you follow dress code, no face paint, and no masks other than the usual. Hats will be allowed, as long as they are part of your costume. There will be a competition for the best costume.

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team in their second place finish in the the Mountain 7 tournament. Congratulations to Ben Hersel on being the top Class 2 finisher in the Mountain 7 Tournament.

The Big Stone Gap General Store and Cafe will be hosting the first ever Union Choir Night from 6:30-8:30 tonight. The choir will perform, followed by family karaoke and a bake sale. Pizzas and other delicious food will be available for purchase when the business opens beginning at 4:00, and a portion of the business’ daily  profits benefit the chorus program. Please stop by anytime after school and support the Union Choir!

The Voices of Union are dubbing this week UHS Custodian Appreciation Week.  Voices of Union and SGA members are volunteering to help clean the cafeteria during lunches on Tuesday and Thursday.  If any of your students are late to class because of this, please don't count them tardy. We will also be bringing around a large card for teachers and students to sign and write messages of appreciation sometime this week.

Good Luck to the Volleyball Team in the District Tournament. Tonight Union will play John Battle at Gate City High School.

Today for lunch we will be having

Beef Nachos

Salsa

Lettuce/Tomato

Corn

Pinto Beans

Chilled Fruit

Choice of Milk.

As we begin another day, let us pause for a moment of silence....

Please stand of the Pledge of Allegiance:  I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
