Hello UMS parents, we had an adult have a very serious medical issue today at UMS. All students and staff are okay. I just wanted to let everyone know. I want to say thank you to our nurse and our staff for their actions and how well they handled the situation.

Andover Community Church will sponsor a Coat and Food Giveaway on Saturday, 12/9/23, at 9AM. The location is the Andover Community Center in Andover.
Cub Scouts Pack 604 is having a coat drive for the whole month of December! As you're cleaning out closets and getting ready for Christmas; drop off any sized kids winter coat for us to donate to local kids in need! The Union Choral Program is hosting a holiday-themed open mic night at The Edge downtown this Thursday, December 7 from 6-8pm. This free, family-friendly event is sponsored by Country Kitchen, and will include music, snacks, desserts, soda, and hot chocolate. Bring your family and friends!

The Holiday Sock Drive starts next week at UMS. This awesome program benefits area nursing homes. Students are encouraged to bring NEW, adult sized socks to their homeroom. This evening, Monday, November 20, at 6:30 pm, the Virginia Board of Education is hosting a listening session to give parents, educators, and community members the opportunity to learn more about the Board’s creation of new accountability measurements for Virginia’s public schools, as well as provide an opportunity for the public to discuss their expectations for the upcoming accountability measurements.
This will be the first chance for Southwest Virginians to weigh in on the issue, and I encourage you to share this information with your parents, educators and stakeholders in your area.

Hello UMS, academic night registration ends at 10AM. www.wisek12.org/ums/2023academic It starts at 6PM tonight and we have a bunch signed up. Guests can park in the front, and along the roads.
