The ADENOVIRUS can cause illness in people of all ages at any time of the year. This virus typically will cause mild common cold- or flu-like symptoms, but it can also cause other illnesses, including: sore throat, pink eye, inflammation of the stomach or intestines, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It can also lead to high fever and even pneumonia.
Be on the look out for these symptoms in your children, take them to the doctor if they have severe symptoms, and alert the school nurse if your child has the adenovirus.
