We are excited to welcome our students back for the 2026–2027 school year tomorrow, Thursday, August 6! Our teachers and staff members have been hard at work preparing engaging classrooms, our transportation team has serviced, cleaned, and sanitized every bus, and our division leadership has implemented new curriculum and strengthened systems to support safe, successful learning. Students, parents/guardians, and staff members are reminded that school will dismiss early at 12:30pm on Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7, 2026. We can't wait to welcome our students back, and look forward to an amazing 2026–2027 school year.

WCPS will be offering FREE developmental and speech screenings Friday, August 28th. These screenings are open to preschool children ages 2.5 - 5 years of age, who live in Wise County, and are not yet attending kindergarten. The Virginia Department of Health will be offering three "Back-to-School Vaccination Clinics" this year for 7th and 12th grade students.

All WCPS students entering 7th or 12th grade are welcome to attend any one of these clinics. On-site registration will be available, so no advance registration is required. Students and guardian(s) are reminded to bring insurance information and immunization record.

We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to help ensure students are up-to-date on their school vaccinations.

Snap Codes have been emailed to those who have a valid email address. It will be autogenerated from Powerschool. Please check your SPAM folder. This MUST be done through the emailed online Snap Code link provided.

DO NOT go to the WCPS website.

DO NOT SUBMIT A NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION IF YOUR CHILD ALREADY ATTENDS LFA. If you do not receive your snapcode, please email snichols@wisek12.org or awilson@wisek12.org

Parents must complete the Student Registration Update to start the process that will unlock HAC. It has been disabled until the process is completed.

Once LFA recieves your updated information, we will then have to upload it into our system which then unlocks the Home Access Center. This will be done periodically throughout the day starting on June 28th. Please allow ample time for the upload to occur. Once this upload is complete, you will be able to view your student’s schedule.

Schedules will be opened on July 28th, ONLY to those who have completed the Snap Code/Student Registration Update.

Home Access Center (HAC) Maintenance and Registration Update: We are currently finalizing student schedules. As a result, the Home Access Center (HAC) is temporarily offline. Registration update snap codes will be emailed no later than July 30th. Once you complete the online registration update for your student, their HAC account will reactivate so you can view their new schedule. Note: If your email address has changed since last school year, please contact your student’s school counselor as soon as possible to update your records. Thank you!

There is still a chance to sign up for Central Volleyball Camp beginning July 28th - July 30th at Central High School. Rec Volleyball signups will end August 2nd. Both of these programs are for any students grades 2nd-8th. For more information, please check out the flyers attached, on the WCPS app, or on our Facebook page.
