The Wise County School Board was pleased to recognize Mrs. Jan Thompson and her 2024 VHSL 2A State Theatre Championship Team from Central High School at tonight's meeting! Mrs. Thompson was also recently awarded the NFHS Outstanding Theatre Instructor Award for her outstanding contributions to her students!
The Wise County School Board was proud to recognize Ms. Shelby Stanley at tonight's meeting. Shelby won the 2024 VHSL 1A Cross Country Individual Championship! Shelby became the first female in Wise County Schools to win an individual state championship in Cross Country!

Wise County Public Schools has an updated 2024-2025 School Calendar. The changes, at this time, have converted our early dismissal days to full school days on February 7, March 7, and April 9, 2025. Additionally, we will now have school on March 10, 2025. A copy of the updated calendar is available via the link below.

From our Food Services Department:
In anticipation of virtual learning days due to inclement weather, the Food Services Program will be sending home with students 2 days of meals, including 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches on the following days:
Tuesday, 1/28 - UPS
Wednesday, 1/29 - SPE, CPS, EHS
Thursday, 1/30 - CMS, UMS, UHS, WPS, LFA, CHS
Friday, 1/31 - JWA
This does not mean virtual learning is scheduled.
We were thankful to get our students back in school today and get our 2nd semester started after all the weather related issues this month!
