May 5, 2023 is School Lunch Hero Day! We are thankful for our staff and their hard work to feed our students on a daily basis!

From our Special Education Department: The Special Education Advisory Committee will have an in person meeting on Thursday May 11, 2023 @ 10am in the tiled area of the Education Center. A virtual option will be offered during this meeting. All staff and parents of private school students, as well as parents of home-schooled students, are invited to participate. Come by Bullitt Park today from 10-2 to register for an early childhood program. Both Wise County Pre-K and Kids Central are set up for registration!

Union Primary School will operate on a Code 3 Schedule today, Tuesday, April 18, 2023. This is due to a power outage at that school. This is only for Union Primary and all other schools are operating on a regular schedule.

The Wise County School Board was treated to presentations tonight from students of Coeburn Primary School that were created and presented at their school as part of Appalachian Heritage Projects during their Reading Across the Mountains activities that took place in March.

It is always great to recognize State Champions and tonight the Wise County School Board recognized two Forensics State Champions! Zoey Barker of Central High School was the VHSL 2A State Champion in Impromptu Speaking. Cassidy Funk of Eastside High School was the VHSL 1A State Champion in Humorous Interpretation. Congratulations to both of these champions!

Congratulations to Zoey Barker from Central High School for winning the 2A State VHSL Tittle in Impromtu Speaking. This is Zoey’s third consecutive State Championship in Impromptu!
