Brag on a Bus Driver - Robin Yates
🚍 Driving since 1989, with 36 years behind the wheel and nearly 30 years in the shop, Robin Yates is the kind of person every school community dreams of. She's more than just a driver — she's a second mom, a mentor, and a daily dose of kindness for the students she serves. What does she love most?
🫶 “My kids, sweet hugs and kisses, I love you’s and I thank you’s.”
Whether it’s buying clothes or jackets for students in need, picking up lunches when someone forgets theirs, helping with homework, or even caring for children until parents arrive — Robin goes above and beyond every single day. She credits her amazing administrative team and beloved coworkers for making her journey meaningful.
Robin, thank you for being a hero on wheels. You are deeply appreciated. 🚌💛

Good luck to each of these teams, student-athletes, and coaches in their fall competition schedules this week!

Brag on a Bus Driver - Sherry Ramey
For the past 37 years, Sherry Ramey has been a dedicated school bus driver, faithfully transporting students and building lasting relationships along the way. For her, driving a bus is far more than a job — it’s her life. “Driving a school bus is my priority,” Sherry says. “When it gets to the point that I can’t drive my school bus, I don’t know what I will do.” She finds true joy in interacting with the children, sharing laughs, and being part of their everyday lives. Over the years, she’s also played a special role in local sports history, driving all of Robin Dotson’s State Championship teams. Whether it’s a routine school day or an exciting trip to a championship game, Sherry brings warmth, dedication, and heart to everything she does. Her commitment and love for the job have made her a beloved figure in the community — truly irreplaceable.

Parents/guardians of students requesting backpacks and supplies should communicate needs to their school's main office. We will transport these to the schools this week! Thank you, again, to United Way for this wonderful partnership!

This evening, at the annual Back-to-School Bash, Wise Primary School unveiled a time capsule buried in 2000 by students, teachers, and staff members. This time capsule was sponsored by Food City when the Pow Wow Playground was built in 2000. Administration at Wise Primary School recently recovered the time capsule that was intact in a large sealed pipe. While Wise Primary School has built a new playground, the administration felt it was essential to honor the Time Capsule of 2000, opening it and displaying its contents at tonight's "Back-to-School Bash." This upcoming school year, the "Family Literacy Night" will showcase the contents of the capsule!
