We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow morning. We hope everyone enjoyed their break! Set those alarm clocks and we'll see you at school!

Wise County Public Schools, in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Virginia Department of Education, is conducting the Virginia School Survey of Climate and Working Conditions. We will survey students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, as well as classroom instructors and staff, beginning in January 2024. The purpose of the student survey is to measure student support, student engagement, school discipline, and safety conditions in each school. This information will be used to guide educational practices that produce a safe and supportive school environment. Wise County Public Schools was treated to songs from Ms. Bolling's Kindergarten class at tonight's meeting. It was a treat!

Dr. Goforth and the Wise County School Board recognized Mr. John Graham for his years of service as a school-board member. Mr. Graham has served on the board for 12 years following a career as a teacher and coach for the school division. Thank you for your service to Wise County Schools!

The Virginia Department of Education has asked us to share this notification! This evening, Monday, November 20, at 6:30 pm, the Virginia Board of Education is hosting a listening session to give parents, educators, and community members the opportunity to learn more about the Board’s creation of new accountability measurements for Virginia’s public schools, as well as provide an opportunity for the public to discuss their expectations for the upcoming accountability measurements. This will be the first chance for Southwest Virginians to weigh in on the issue, and I encourage you to share this information with your parents, educators and stakeholders in your area.
