The Special Education Advisory Committee will have a virtual meeting on Thursday, March 10th 2022, at 10:00am to review the 2022-2023 Special Education Annual Plan and provide input before presenting it to the school board for approval in April. All staff and parents of private school students, as well as parents of home-schooled students, are invited to attend.
The plan is available for viewing by the public from now until the school board meeting on April 12, 2022. Members of the public may stop by the school board office to view the plan during regular business hours or by contacting Cari Braddock @ 276-328-8017.
Each year the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) recognizes professional school counselors during the second week of February for their crucial role in public education. Our school counselors are school-based mental health professionals who possess a rare combination of training and experience that makes them a unique and integral part of our total educational program. Through comprehensive, data-informed school counseling programs, our school counselors improve a range of student learning and behavioral outcomes. They support both the closing of achievement gaps and help maximize student success by providing counseling, academic and career development interventions, and mental health supports.
We are thankful for our School Counselors and all that they do for our students!
